Mother's Day Reflections
Happy Mother’s Day!
As we get closer to the celebration of Mother’s Day, I looked up the definition of a mother. The words that came to me were “loving, nurturing, caring and providing guidance”. What beautiful words to be associated with a person.
I am proud to be the mother of two wonderful sons. Many of my friends are also mothers who are selfless, supportive and strong, providing guidance and care. But there are also so many others who have not “biologically given birth” but who could be described as having those same attributes.
I have had a few mentors and friends that have “mothered” me through different times in my life and their influence and love left an impression that I will always cherish. I’m sure you could find them also in your life.
While watching a “pet mom” interact with her pets can bring a certain warmness to your heart. The caring and guidance builds a special bond between them – another form of love.
The true definition of a mother is a female parent who gives birth to or raises a child. However, as we go through life there are many moms that touch us. So, reach out, give them a hug and thank them for being in your life . . . pets might need some help with this . . .
